All These Things I Hate by AlexRose312 All These Things I Hate by AlexRose312
I love this photo. I'm really proud of it for so many reasons from an artist's point of view and I'd love to hear your feedback~

I did this because I was feeling creative and wanted to do something productive with my weekend and I've really been wanting my stuff to have more meaning.

I feel like I've actually created something here.

Oh and I think I should clarify that I'm not actually a horrifically depressing person, despite how it may come across. I just wanted to make something worthwhile and looking back at this I feel really accomplished. (:

I was really worried about uploading this because I have some real life people that watch me on here and I didn't want to cause worry about my mental state among them but I decided I couldn't let the fear of being judged prevent me from sharing my art. I hope it was worthwhile.

Hi I am from :iconbeaute-lamour: and I am here to give you the critique that you asked for, thank you for your patients and remember all critiques are subjective.

Okay your piece to start has strong emotion, so I am hoping the tips I gave you last helped out :) The piece is really powerful and has a very artistic feel to it and the reason and purpose and meaning show through your piece. With photos little things makes world of a difference, like just how you pose and the angle of your shot. The pose in a fetal like position has so much power it alludes to you being helpless like a child or a new born and babies and small kids are helpless and need protection and the fetal position just adds so much power to your piece.
The heavy make up, the fact that I cannot really see your eyes does not take away from the piece at all, in fact it makes it more captivating. The first thing I saw was you beautiful dark eyes, the way they're just starring makes me feel as if you are peering through my soul and asking for help, and the wonderful effect of the tear marks make this piece truly emotional. I love your attention to detail in this piece, now I will be bias lol because I am Gothic or dark whatever you want to call it ( it doesn't show through my work because all I have done are fan arts) but I will be bias in that I think you have used the outfit perfectly. I love the gloves and especially the stockings, it says a lot about the subjects character and gives you background to her story.
Now your close attention to detail is what makes this piece, the fact that your clothing is the typical Gothic wardrobe the signs compliment it so well. Each shows a different aspect, and gives a glimpse to the suffering like the “unwanted” “freak” or even “insane” are common insults or mean words that are generally said to people especially those who are part of the Gothic or dark lifestyle who dress in beautiful gloves and nice lace stockings and wear all black, because we are different we get called names, so these small details make your piece even more believable.
Technical wise, your piece has the right amount of light that emphasizes the right areas, like the fact that the light is shined most on the wall of words draws the eyes just perfectly, and the fact that there is enough shadow to set a dark depressed mood works very well. It was a superb choice artistically to have this in black and white; color would have been far to much and it would draw my attention away I believe from what you want to emphasize. Like before, your camera is in great focus, no blurs, dust, on the photo, there is a tad bit of noise when I zoom in around the neck and face but it is not such an issue to the point the piece looses its high quality and resolution.

Now this piece is amazing, you accomplished your goal of a really meaningful piece. Some photography sadly take an image and make it black and white and try to pass it off as deep but it never really works but yours is not one of those your piece has lots of deep feel and I think you are a strong black and white photography which not many people every can be. There are not much suggestions for this piece, but I recommend for each piece you do keep it up, use your gift of close attention to details ( like with lighting, pose choice and wardrobe makeup choice) and you will have an amazing piece each time. You also seem by this shot at least, to have creative in using props like the notes on the wall so for future pieces, if your artistic intuition says to use props then go for it because in this case it made the piece stronger. I hope this helped :)

by the way, I will be featuring this in our feature gallery and you will be the art piece of the week, you my lady are a true artist.
